Students' impressions

The trip to Italy

I think that this project is an amazing opportunity to meet new interesting people, travel to other countries and get to know other cultures.

Before the trip I designed a poster about Italy and learned much about the country.

The trip to Italy was really great! We stayed at Tivoli, a very beautiful small town near Rome, surrounded by impressive mountains. However, great views was not the only thing that impressed me. I was impressed by a kind nature of people living here. I will never forget their hospitality and sincerity.
During this trip we visited a number of historical sights and tourist attractions both in Tivoli and Rome. In Vatican we visited St. Peter’s basilica, which is absolutely stunning! When exploring the spot we tried to imagine what it would be like to perform in here We also saw the Coliseum, the Pantheon, the Trevi fountain, the Spanish steps and lots of other famous sights. It was amazing! I will never forget it… Thanks to this trip I met great people from France, Portugal, Turkey, Romania and Italy

Visiting Italy was one of my biggest dreams and I did it. I’m so happy about it! I will definitely go to Italy again one day!

The trip to Romania

The trip to Romania was the first mobility of Comenius project „ Sounds and words of Europe“ . We were really excited about it, because we didn't know what to expect from this journey. The awaiting events were a surprise for us, so all we could do was to collect information about Romania. We found out that it is a wonderful country with beautiful nature as well as rich cultural life and interesting history.
When we got to Slobozia, we met the participants of the Comenius project. All the students and teachers were very friendly. The mobility was full of events. The very first day we visited the high school "Ionel Perlea"and took part in several press conferences hosted by the school and city authorities. We also visited Inaltarea Domnului cathedral and a number of museums. The following day we attended the multinational show of music and poetry which was very original and outstanding. The third day of our stay was an amzing trip to Transilvania. We visited memorial house of great composer, interpreter and conductor George Enescu, visited the Peles and the famous Bran castles. The trip was great , as well as the exciting party in the mountains, when we talked , danced Romanian traditional dances and enjoyed traditional local dishes till the early hours.

The trip to France

On March 7, 2010, we, four students of Šiauliai Conservatoire and 2 teachers, set off for France. Our destination was Prades, a cute town in the south of France.
We couldn‘t wait to see French colleagues and get acquainted with the hosting country and enjoy lovely spring weather. Alas- the weather in France was the same as in our country: lots of snow, windy. Despite the extreme situation, blocked roads and cancelled lessons our trip was excellent. The French students, their families as well as teachers were extremely hospitable and caring. They organised a number of trips, so we had a chance to see Perpignan and the Mediterranean Sea, visit Ceret moderns art museum. We enjoyed the tour around Prades as well. Patrice and Nuno, French teachers, are wonderful guides. We also enjoyed the concert of the project paricipants. We were happy to see the performances of French, Portugese, Romanian friends and participate in the event ourselves. All the performances were really interesting. We were sorry for the Italian students and teachers, who were forced to stay at the airport and had no chance to come to Prades.
All in all, despite the complicated weather conditions, our stay in France was nice and full of exciting moments.

The trip to Portugal

The trip to Portugal was the last mobility of “Comenius” project. This project is a wonderful opportunity to meet great people from many countries and it’s a really good way to find new friends!
In Portugal we saw many interesting and beautiful places. Opera House and amazing gardens in Porto, museums, awesome mountains, etc. We visited some small but really lovely towns not far away from Braga- the city, where we stayed.
The final “Comenius” project concert was fantastic!
I was amazed by the way the Portugese people treated us, their sincerity and friendliness impressed us a lot.
I hope that some day I will come back to Portugal!
